Do I need a card to say I'm in?
No. Right now Whosin doesn't touch your money at all. Saying I'm in puts your name on the list and tells you the most you could end up owing. When the organizer posts the real cost, you pay them back the way you already would: Venmo, e-transfer, cash, whatever the two of you use. Card holds are coming, and the organizer will pick that option when they make the plan.
What stops someone saying they paid when they didn't?
That's the organizer's call, and it's a setting on the plan. Honor system means people tick themselves off once they've sent it. Or the organizer can choose to confirm each payment themselves, so nothing counts as paid until they say the money landed. Either way everyone can see who is square and who isn't.
Is my card charged when I say I'm in?
No. Saying I'm in places a hold up to the plan's max budget. Money only moves when the organizer charges the group the real cost, and your share can never be more than the max you agreed to.

Then you pay less. The max is a ceiling. If the plan had a $100 max and the tickets worked out to $52.50 each, you owe $52.50 and that's the end of it.

What if the organizer spends more than the max?
Your share is capped at the max. Anything over the group's combined ceiling is on the organizer, and the app tells them that before they confirm the charge.

Yes, but it takes about a minute: an email address and a code. They can see the whole plan before signing up, and only need an account to take a spot.

Who can see the invite link?
Every plan gets an unlisted link that is long and unguessable. It is still public: anyone who has it can open the plan and lock themselves in, so treat it like the plan itself. Send it in the group chat, not on the internet.
What is "all or nothing"?
A setting on the plan. All or nothing means everyone has to be in: if one person drops out or misses the lock-in date, the plan is off. Flexible means the plan goes ahead with whoever locked in. Pick it when you create the plan, and everyone sees which one it is before they commit.

People on a plan with you see your name and picture. Your email address is never shown to them. No profiles, no handles, nothing public.
Can I bail after locking in?
You can decline any time before the organizer posts the final cost. After that, that's between you and your friends. We just do the math.

No. The organizer buys the actual thing wherever they want. Whosin handles commitments and the split, nothing else. That's on purpose.
What does Whosin cost?
Creating plans and joining them is free. If that ever changes, it will be announced before it does.
Is this real?
Yes. Accounts, plans and the split are all real. The only part that is not real yet is the money: Whosin never touches it, so you settle up with each other directly.
